Artistic Director
As the Artistic Director of Rabbit Hole I am drawn to confront a subject, character, relationship, mood and challenge the actors and audience to wrestle with the ideas, themes, feelings and choices that exist in the performance.  I believe that the live nature of theatre makes it the most immediate art form available and I work to emphasize that immediacy.

I'm concerned about how we live our lives in this city, in this country, in this world...spiritually, culturally, economically...and I make theatre in order to explore the way we exist today and might exist tomorrow.

Founding Member
In 2005, after over a decade of self-producing, I teamed-up with two long-time collaborators (Paul Daily and Emily Hartford) and together we founded
Rabbit Hole Ensemble in Brooklyn, New York.

Our mission is to create new work that centralizes the importance and versatility of the actor and de-centralizes the currently traditional use of high-tech lighting, set and multi-media design.  Our working method boils down to "if it isn't absolutely necessary, then get rid of it".  Superfluous elements only distract the audience's attention away from what the actors are doing...and often, sadly, that's largely their purpose.  In Rabbit Hole's theatre, the actor has nowhere to hide and, therefore, has to be at the top of his/her game and able to perform a wide array of physical and verbal skills.
